Updating personal credit card account information

Keeping your credit card account information current is important for security and communication purposes. You can make many updates in the Capital One Mobile app or on our website. Some changes may require additional steps for your protection. Here’s what you need to know.

You can update your personal information when you sign in on our website or in our mobile app so that we can better communicate with you. See how to update your personal information below. Note that these changes will apply to all your linked Capital One accounts:
 

Residential address: You can update your residential address, which is the address where you live. 

Mailing address and assigned addresses: You’ll need to assign a mailing address to each of your accounts. If you have only one address, we can set this address as your primary mailing address and assign it to all accounts in your profile. Alternatively, you may choose to have different mailing addresses than your residential address.

Personal email addresses: You can change your primary personal email address and add a secondary email address.

Phone numbers: You can add the mobile, home and work phone numbers you want us to use to contact you.

Employment and income information: Keeping this information up to date helps to ensure we have the most accurate and recent information, and it may help determine eligibility for changes like automatic credit limit increases.

Greeting name: Add a personalized greeting so you can manage your card in a space that’s always tuned in to you.

You will need to call Capital One to make changes to certain personal account information, such as updating your legal name. You can use the phone number on the back of your credit card to contact us.
