What is a student credit card?
Student credit cards are typically geared toward college students who may be looking for their first credit card. They can be used the same way as other credit cards. But they generally have benefits designed for college students and may be more accessible to those with little or no credit history.
If you’re a student, you could use a student credit card to build credit. But that’s only if you use it responsibly by doing things like making payments on time each month.
If you’re under 21, federal law requires you to have a co-signer who is over 21 or prove that you have enough independent income to make your minimum credit card payments.
